MENTAL HEALTH EDUCATION

Supporting the wellbeing of our young people
Our belief in a better tomorrow extends beyond devices and data; it includes the mental health and resilience of the young people who will use that technology.
Young people face unprecedented change, and with it, real pressure, anxiety, and worry, often at the very age they are forming their own sense of identity and independence during school years 1-9. We have both an obligation and an opportunity to help create confident young Kiwis.
Confidence is one of the strongest human attributes linked to success, because it feeds curiosity, the willingness to challenge, and the resilience to overcome. Self-acceptance and positive relationships help build it. Our mental health education initiatives support the provision of tools, skills, and training inside safe environments, so young people can become more self-aware and self-confident.
Quadrent is a proud supporter of the Covert Theatre and its Resilience Playground programme as a Founding Partner. We support the Theatre by hosting an annual comedy night for our valued customers and staff, and became a key partner in 2020, contributing $125,000 to its fit-out. In conjunction with Wade Jackson, founder of the Covert Theatre, we have helped to create the Resilience Playground, a series of digitised modules designed to equip every child with the life skills they need to learn, communicate, and participate through play.
Since 2020, Quadrent has supported the Sir John Kirwan Foundation and its Mitey approach to bringing mental health education into schools across Aotearoa. Through our Annual Charity Golf Day, we’ve raised $439,000 for Mitey, playing an active role in providing young people with the skills and knowledge to recognise and respond to mental health issues in themselves and others.
